Congratulations to Stacy Rus and Donna Fischer on being named the 2018 Golden Acorn winners! And congratulations to Mrs. Wyrwitzke on being named the 2018 Outstanding Educator! This is a big honor that is well deserved!  They have been outstanding volunteers at Fernwood Elementary and in the community, and this award recognizes the endless giving of their time and talents. Their names are now engraved on the Golden Acorn / Outstanding Educator plaque that is displayed in the main office.A contribution will be made in their names to the Washington State PTA Scholarship Program that benefits students.   ... read full article

The mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida has left in its wake horror, pain, confusion and anger.   I know our hearts go out to these families and this community.
